MOSCOW, Oct 19 (PRIME) -- Russia’s wheat exports decreased by 18% on the year to 11.1 million tonnes from the start of the current agricultural year on July 1 through October 14, the Agriculture Ministry said on Tuesday.
Total grain exports fell by 21.3% on the year to around 13 million tonnes in the period. Barley exports fell by 34.9% to 1.5 million tonnes and corn exports plunged by 56.5% to around 200,000 tonnes.
In the previous agricultural year, which ran from July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021, Russia’s grain exports amounted to 49 million tonnes, including 37.6 million tonnes of wheat. The grain export forecast for the 2021–2022 agricultural year stands at 45–48 million tonnes, according to the ministry.
